Purify

Purify is a casual action-platformer created by Treehouse Games, a team of two artists and two programmers.

You play as a monkey that has to purify floating islands by planting trees. You can only breathe near trees, otherwise your oxygen depletes. When you plant all the trees on an island, it turns green and you can breath freely, so go plant those trees, but beware of enemies trying to cut them down! Can you save the Tree of Life?

Technical
Purify is coded in C# using the XNA 4.0 framework and Ploobs, a free opensource engine.

Imagine Cup
Purify was Treehouse Games' entry for the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2012 and reached the semi-finals (top 100 worldwide). The game had to address a real world problem, and a way to solve it. Our theme was deforestation and planting trees as a solution.

Contribution
I was one of the two programmers on this project. Among other tasks, I coded some of the gameplay, implemented most of the user interface and animations, and mainly was responsible for the communication between artists and programmers and kept an eye on our planning.

Teammates
Dylan Marey (artist)
Pauwel Nomes (artist)
Yannick Segers (programmer)
